How FPD-Link Cameras Work ？

FPD-Link Cameras generally consist of the following components :
1. Camera Module :
Captures the visual data (such as HD or 4K video) and provides it in a digital format (typically in parallel).
2. Serializer :
A component in the camera module converts the parallel video data from the camera into a serial signal. This allows for the data to be transmitted over a single pair of wires, minimizing the need for a large number of cables.
3. Deserializer :
The deserializer receives the serial signal at the processing end and converts it back into parallel data that can be processed by the host system (such as an ECU, ADAS, or AI processor).
4. Transmission Media :
FPD-Link uses coaxial cables (in FPD-Link II) or twisted-pair cables (in FPD-Link III) to transmit the data between the serializer and deserializer.
