DeviceNet and CANopen differ in terms of communication protocols, standardization, flexibility and device compatibility, but they are both industrial automation communication protocols based on the CAN bus and are used to realize data exchange and control between devices.

DeviceNet and CANopen are both communication protocols used in the field of industrial automation. They have some connections and differences:
Connect :
1. Based on CAN bus: DeviceNet and CANopen are both based on CAN bus communication protocol. CAN (Controller Area Network) is an efficient real-time communication bus protocol, especially suitable for industrial control and automotive fields.

2. For industrial automation: Both are designed for use in the field of industrial automation for data communication and control between industrial equipment, sensors, actuators, etc.

3. International standardization: CANopen is an international standard (CiA 301, CiA 401, etc.), while DeviceNet is a standard promoted by equipment manufacturers in the United States, but it is also gradually accepted and used internationally.

The difference:
1. Protocols and standards: CANopen is an open international standard protocol maintained and promoted by the CAN in Automation (CiA) organization. It has detailed protocol specifications and functional descriptions. DeviceNet was originally promoted by Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) and later became part of the ODVA (Open DeviceNet Vendor Association) standard.

2. Application fields and flexibility: CANopen provides more flexibility and scalability and is suitable for various types of equipment and complex application scenarios. DeviceNet focuses more on the connection of industrial automation equipment and simple control applications.

3. Device compatibility and support: Since CANopen is an open standard, it is easier to find compatible devices and tools. DeviceNet relies to a certain extent on the support and device ecosystem of specific manufacturers.
