Compared with M12 L Coded of 63V rated voltage, the K Coded can supply up to 630V and 12A, that is the K Coded can safely transmit up to 7kW power. This water-resistant, IP68 rated, series also features a voltage rating 630V and current rating 12A allowing for growth of M12 connections in harsh and industrial environments. |
| Description | M12 is the most common circular connector and is well known for its use as a data and signal interface. To enable a similarly compact interface for energy-intensive applications, the M12 is now also available with IEC 61076-2-111 standard K coding. This connector can safely transmit 7kW under 630V and 16A using four power contacts and one PE, truly realizing high power transmission with a compact interface. M12 connectors and M12 cable assemblies are also used in measurement and control, communications, transportation, robotics, agriculture, and alternative energy. The correct choice of pin number depends on the specific application needs, 3-pin and 4-pin models are used for sensor and power applications; 4-pin and 8-pin models are used for Ethernet and PROFINET; DeviceNet and CANbus generally use 4-pin and 5-pin M12 connections converter; 12-pin models are commonly used in a variety of signaling applications.
