M12 is the most common circular connector and is well known for its use as a data and signal interface. To enable a similarly compact interface for energy-intensive applications, the M12 is now also available with IEC 61076-2-111 standard K coding

 


Application of K code and L code in power supply field :

 


In industrial automation, the transmission of high currents via M12 connectors has become a basic requirement. The 5-core K-coded connector is particularly suitable for alternating current (AC) transmission, such as drives and inverters that require 630V (AC) and 12A. The 5-core L-coded connector is suitable for small DC (DC) drives, distributed I/O modules and other various DC (DC) powered automation components connected to the fieldbus system. Its rated voltage is 63V and its rated current 16A.
